With a 1-0 victory over host U23 Indonesia in the final match of the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship, the Vietnam National U23 Football Team has created an unprecedented feat of winning the regional championship three times in a row.
To encourage, motivate and recognize the achievements of the Vietnam U23 Team, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized a meeting to congratulate the Team.
Attending the meeting were Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong; leaders of functional departments and divisions of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; President of the Vietnam Football Federation Tran Quoc Tuan; leaders of the Vietnam Football Federation; the coaching staff of the national U23 team, head coach Kim Sang-sik and players of the Vietnam national U23 football team.

Previously, on the evening of July 29, 2025, right after the resounding victory of the Vietnam U23 Football Team against the Indonesia U23 Team, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent a letter of congratulations to the Vietnam U23 Team for winning the Southeast Asian U23 Championship for the third consecutive time.
In a letter to Head Coach Kim Sang Sik and the entire National U23 Men's Football Team, the Prime Minister expressed his joy and emotion at witnessing the National U23 Men's Football Team successfully defend the championship title of the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship.
On behalf of the Government , the Prime Minister sent the entire Vietnam U23 Men's Football Team, the Coaching Board, the Vietnam Football Federation and fans nationwide the warmest congratulations after the resounding victory of the Vietnam U23 Team, winning the U23 Southeast Asian Championship for the third consecutive time.
This victory continues to affirm the leading position of Vietnamese youth football in the region, and is also a clear demonstration of the bravery, talent, team spirit and aspiration to reach new heights of the young players wearing the national flag.

The Prime Minister emphasized that throughout the competition, the players demonstrated a resilient fighting spirit, confidence, calmness and steadfastness, creating emotional moments, adding confidence, pride and strong inspiration to millions of Vietnamese people at home and abroad.

The Prime Minister especially thanked millions of fans nationwide who have always accompanied, stood side by side and been a solid support for the team throughout the journey to conquer the highest position of the U23 region.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to coordinate with relevant agencies to promptly reward and encourage the players, coaching staff and the team. The Prime Minister hopes that the players will continue to train, maintain their form, be united, modest and further promote the successes they have achieved and achieve more outstanding results in the future.
