On June 30, at the Ceremony to announce the Resolution and Decision of the Central and local governments on merging provincial and commune-level administrative units, ending the operation of district-level administrative units, establishing Party organizations, appointing Party committees, People's Councils, People's Committees, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of Ho Chi Minh City, communes, wards, and special zones, the ceremony to hand over the Politburo 's decision on appointing the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Secretary, and Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term took place.
Accordingly, the Politburo decided to appoint the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term, consisting of 107 comrades. Of which, 36 comrades are members of the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Party Committee; 32 comrades are members of the Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee and 39 comrades are members of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.

The Politburo also appointed the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term, consisting of 27 comrades. Of which, 11 comrades are members of the Standing Committee of the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Party Committee; 7 comrades are members of the Standing Committee of the Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee; and 9 comrades are members of the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee).
