Also attending were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Cong Thanh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan, and representatives of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and departments and branches.

In the sacred atmosphere at the National Cemetery of Route 9, Provincial Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet and delegates respectfully offered flowers and incense to express their deep gratitude for the great contributions of the heroic martyrs who sacrificed on the Route 9 front and in Laos during the resistance war against the US to save the country.

The predecessor of the National Cemetery of Road 9 was the Martyrs Cemetery of Dong Ha town, built from 1983 - 1984. In 1995, the cemetery was renovated and invested in building additional items. This is the resting place of more than 10,800 heroic martyrs from all over the country.

The Route 9 National Cemetery stands out with its victory monument and ceremony area. The 18m high victory monument depicts a Vietnamese liberation army soldier with a young girl and a Laotian baby celebrating the day of peace and freedom. The ceremony area has a memorial house, 3 reliefs and 4 statues.

This is a large-scale, monumental work of gratitude, a symbol of the nation's revolutionary spirit; expressing the gratitude of our Party and State to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their blood and bones for the cause of national liberation and reunification.
