The family of Ms. Tran Thi Thoa, Duc An commune, has 3 hectares of coffee for business with a fairly stable yield of about 3.5 tons/ha. All of her coffee acreage is purchased by the Doan Ket Agricultural Service Cooperative (Cooperative Doan Ket) located in the commune at a stable price.
Ms. Thoa said that she has been involved in the Doan Ket Cooperative for over 10 years. She believes that the factor that helps her and the Cooperative maintain a sustainable relationship is that she realizes that she has gained many benefits. According to her, the benefits are not only in the economic aspect. She recalls that in the early years of the association, the price of coffee was low, while the cost of investing in materials and fertilizers was high, so she and many members mainly worked for their own profit. Meanwhile, the Cooperative required her and other households to apply many new techniques with quite strict requirements from care, harvesting, and preservation according to the 4C international coffee community rules. In particular, Ms. Thoa affirmed that the difference compared to the previous conventional production method is that 4C coffee is grown by farmers like her with a commitment to minimize the use of pesticides and herbicides to protect the environment. She completely gave up using herbicides, minimizing pesticides, so the labor cost was greater. But in return, she protects her own health, the environment, and more importantly, the health of consumers by meeting food hygiene and safety requirements. In the past 2 years, from cultivating 3 hectares of international standard coffee, she has earned hundreds of millions of dong in profit.
Mr. Luu Nhu Binh - Director of Doan Ket Cooperative said that in reality, to maintain a sustainable connection and increase the number of households participating in the connection, the Cooperative and the people have agreements and common practices for the common goal of increasing the value of agricultural products. Initially, strictly implementing the techniques was not easy, but the Cooperative had inspections and controls associated with the recording of the households, and had incentives such as bonuses through purchase prices for households that did well. However, in that commonality, all parties benefited in a harmonious way to maintain a sustainable connection over many years.

In addition to coffee, Doan Ket Cooperative also cooperates in producing pepper according to domestic and international good agricultural standards, serving many markets. To date, this cooperative has 65 members, growing 150 hectares of pepper, 250 hectares of coffee, of which over 100 hectares of coffee meet 4C standards and over 100 hectares of pepper are applying certification processes such as RA, USDA.
The corn seed planting linkage has been maintained effectively for many years in the communes of Quang Phu and Nam Nung with an annual area of over 500 hectares. According to the leader of the People's Committee of Quang Phu commune, one of the factors that has helped build and maintain the strong development of corn seed planting linkage in these communes is the support of large enterprises such as: Vietnam Seed Joint Stock Company; Bioseed Vietnam Company Limited; Syngenta Vietnam Company Limited... These enterprises not only provide high-quality seeds and technical support but also advance part of the materials and guarantee the output of products for farmers.
With its management and resonance role, the agricultural - environmental sector and local authorities also pay attention and create conditions for developing linkages. In particular, it can be said that the province has planned and oriented the development of high-tech agricultural areas, including areas that are currently growing corn seeds, which are associated with linkages, which is a great advantage for attracting and investing in businesses to develop more open linkages in the future.
Lam Dong province currently has 528 production chains linked to the consumption of agricultural products. Building, maintaining, developing and expanding these chains is a key solution being promoted to develop high-quality agricultural goods to serve the domestic and export markets.
