Mr. Hien calls Mai Ngoc and Anh Hoang historical figures, gives big rewards to Vietnamese table tennis

Tran Mai Ngoc and Dinh Anh Hoang were awarded 250 million VND each by T&T Group. Of which, Mai Ngoc received 200 million VND for the gold medal in the mixed doubles event at the 32nd SEA Games and 50 million VND for the bronze medal in the women's team event. Similarly, Anh Hoang received 200 million VND for winning the gold medal and 50 million VND for winning the bronze medal in the men's team event. Athlete Le Dinh Duc of Hanoi T&T Club won the bronze medal in the men's team event at the 32nd SEA Games.

Tran Mai Ngoc shared that this is the largest amount of money she has ever received and she will open a savings account to later open a table tennis teaching club.

Coach Vu Manh Cuong of Hanoi T&T Table Tennis Club - who trained two young talents - also received a bonus of 200 million VND. The coaching staff of Hanoi T&T Table Tennis Club was also awarded 200 million VND.

26 years ago, Mai Ngoc and Anh Hoang's teacher - Coach Vu Manh Cuong won the gold medal in the mixed doubles event at the 1997 SEA Games. The historic feat was repeated by Mai Ngoc and Anh Hoang after defeating two talented Singaporean athletes in the final match of the 32nd SEA Games.

Mr. Hien and the President of the Vietnam Table Tennis Federation (right cover) presented awards to Tran Mai Ngoc and Dinh Anh Hoang. Mr. Hoang promised to continue to strive to achieve continental achievements.

Mr. Hien advised table tennis players not to be complacent, not to have star disease and to continue training to develop stronger in the future.

Interestingly, Mai Ngoc is not an athlete from Hanoi, but the girl born in 2004 comes from Binh Duong , joined the Hanoi T&T table tennis team in 2012. Anh Hoang (22 years old) is from Dak Lak , joined the Hanoi T&T table tennis team in 2010. Dinh Duc (born in 1999), from Dak Nong, joined the club in 2008.

Athlete Le Dinh Duc, who won a bronze medal at the 32nd SEA Games, was also awarded 50 million VND. In recognition of the efforts of the coaching staff of the Vietnamese table tennis team, Mr. Hien decided to award the coach of the Vietnamese table tennis team, Le Huy, 100 million VND, and the entire coaching staff, 100 million VND.

On June 3, Mai Ngoc, Anh Hoang and Dinh Duc will go to the US for 2 weeks of training.
