At a press conference a few days ago in Bangkok, the Thai Volleyball Federation, in addition to announcing the plan to participate in the SEA V.League 2025 tournament of the two national men's and women's volleyball teams, also received questions about the match between Thailand and Cambodia in the men's event.
Speaking to the press, President of the Volleyball Federation of Thailand, Mr. Somporn Chaibanyang, emphasized that sports must be separated from politics , especially in volleyball. The ultimate goal of the tournament is to create unity and develop the abilities of athletes.
Similar to the women's event, the Thai men's volleyball team brought to SEA V.League 2025 the strongest squad, with the core of excellent athletes built over the past 3 years, helping them shock Asia when winning the AVC Challenge Cup 2023.
For Cambodia, in its first appearance at the SEA V.League, the country's national men's team also brought its strongest squad to the tournament.
Since the 31st SEA Games held in Vietnam, Cambodian volleyball has been heavily invested in and has immediately made rapid progress. They have continuously broken their own records from the first bronze medal in history at the 31st SEA Games, and then the silver medal at the 32nd SEA Games right on home soil.
Both SEA Games witnessed Cambodia defeating Thailand in a thrilling 5-set match. Therefore, the clash between these two teams is worth waiting for in the upcoming SEA V.League.
