MU and Villa create transfer dominoes

Aston Villa have approached Royal Antwerp to sign goalkeeper Senne Lammens, as Manchester United reach a personal agreement with Emiliano Martinez.

MU could sign Martinez, while Lammens could join Villa this summer.

According to British media, Lammens is currently Villa's top choice, along with Diogo Costa, in case Martinez leaves. At the same time, MU is negotiating with Villa about recruiting Martinez. Therefore, this team must consider Lammens as a possible replacement.

Initially, Lammens was MU's number one target. However, according to The Athletic , the "Red Devils" have not made an official offer. The reason is that MU needs a goalkeeper with enough courage and experience to immediately become a leader in the goal. In this regard, Martinez surpasses Lammens.

Since the beginning of the season, Andre Onana has not started any Premier League matches, while Altay Bayindir has made continuous mistakes with limited ability to catch high balls. In the context of the transfer market is about to close, MU has a reason to push the Martinez deal.

After reaching a personal agreement with Martinez, MU will approach Aston Villa to negotiate the price. Missing out on the Champions League ticket will cause "The Villains" to lose a large source of income, forcing them to sell some key players to ensure financial sustainability.

MU is likely to spend around £40 million to complete the deal for the 2022 World Cup winner. The proceeds from the Martinez deal will help the Villa Park club have enough funds to pursue Lammens.

Lammens, who is 1.93 metres tall, is a Belgium youth international. He made his debut for Club Brugge in July 2021 before moving to Antwerp two years later. Lammens made his debut for the club in the Champions League, in a defeat to Porto in November of the same year.
