Arrested fake notary for defrauding landowner and appropriating more than 16 billion VND

(Chinhphu.vn) - The investigation agency determined that the Notary, the Head of the Notary Office and his accomplices impersonated landowners to sign transaction contracts and then appropriated the property of many people.

The investigation agency executed an arrest warrant for Huynh Thi Liem.

On July 24, the Investigation Police Agency of Dong Nai Province Police prosecuted, temporarily detained and searched the residence and workplace of Huynh Thi Liem (49 years old) - Notary, Head of Huynh Thi Liem Notary Office and Le Thi Mai Trinh (54 years old) - both residing in Long Khanh Ward, Dong Nai Province for the crime of "Fraudulent appropriation of property" as prescribed in Clause 4, Article 174 of the Penal Code.

During the investigation, the Investigation Agency determined that Liem and Trinh had impersonated landowners to sign transaction contracts (Liem was the notary) and then appropriated property from many people with a total estimated amount of more than 16 billion VND.

The case is continuing to be investigated and clarified according to regulations.
