The “Global Tourism City Attractiveness Index” evaluates the attractiveness of 191 leading tourist cities in the world , based on many criteria such as urban beauty and natural landscape, culture - history, experiential tourism content, services and hospitality.
This year's results show a clear increase in Da Nang 's position in the eyes of the international tourist community, while also reflecting the city's persistent efforts to improve the quality of its tourism destinations.
Da Nang is one of three Vietnamese representatives in the top 50 most attractive cities globally, along with Nha Trang (ranked 31st) and Hanoi (ranked 41st).
In the Asia region, Da Nang holds the 20th position, behind Nha Trang (18th) and surpassing many familiar destinations in the region. This is a positive result, showing the city's increasing competitiveness on the regional tourism map.
In the ranking criteria, Da Nang is highly appreciated in terms of service and friendliness, ranking 36th globally. This reflects remarkable progress in improving service quality and visitor experience, from accommodation infrastructure, transportation to the service attitude of tourism industry staff.
This is also evidence of the change in awareness and action in building the image of a friendly and hospitable destination of the city.
In terms of landscape, Da Nang - with its long beaches, majestic mountains, modern urban space combined with traditional culture - ranked 49th globally in the criteria of "Urban beauty and natural landscape". Although this ranking still has much potential for improvement, it clearly shows the natural advantages and attractiveness that the city is effectively exploiting.
Compared to other tourist cities in Vietnam in the rankings, Nha Trang stands out in the category of “Tourism experience content” with the 18th position, demonstrating the diversity of tourism products, especially sea and island activities, entertainment and exploration.
Meanwhile, Hanoi is ranked 48th globally in terms of “Culture - History”, the only representative of Vietnam in the top 50 in this category, thanks to its traditional heritage values that are preserved and promoted.
The “Global Tourism City Attractiveness Index” was developed by Yanolja - Korea's leading tourism platform - and research partners, based on social data and analysis of tourists' behavior and feelings.
This is considered a useful support tool to help cities identify strengths, weaknesses and trends to shape more effective tourism development strategies.
Da Nang's continuous upgrade in international rankings is not only a positive result in terms of image but also opens up great opportunities for the city to promote its promotion strategy, brand positioning, market expansion and tourism product diversification.
