On the afternoon of December 6, Van Hoa Newspaper ( Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism - VHTT&DL) organized a vote for 10 typical cultural, sports and tourism events in 2024. Nearly 70 journalists following the field of culture, sports and tourism participated in the direct vote.
In addition, the Organizing Committee accepts online voting on the websites of Van Hoa Newspaper, To Quoc Newspaper and the Information Portal of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism . Online voting time is from 3:35 p.m. on December 6, 2024 to 5:00 p.m. on December 9, 2024.

Speaking at the press conference, Editor-in-Chief of Van Hoa Newspaper Nguyen Anh Vu emphasized that in 2024, the domestic and international context still has many fluctuations, the culture, sports and tourism sector has made many efforts, achieved positive results, and contributed to the socio -economic development of the country.
“The typical cultural, sports and tourism events in 2024 will not only leave an impression on the hearts of Vietnamese people but also affirm the country's position and prestige in the international arena,” Mr. Nguyen Anh Vu affirmed.
Mr. Nguyen Anh Vu said that the voting aims to review, summarize and honor the most typical cultural, sports and tourism events of 2024. Thereby, promoting the community's interest in this field; arousing the spirit of national pride, solidarity to preserve and promote good values. The voted events are not only memorable milestones but also inspiration for new developments in the future.
The 15 events put up for vote include:
1. The National Assembly approved the investment policy for the National Target Program on Cultural Development for the 2025-2035 period.
2. The National Assembly passed the Law on Cultural Heritage (amended), completing the legal framework for the cultural heritage sector.
3. The Government issued two major plans on culture, sports and tourism, unleashing resources and creating a foundation for breakthroughs and development of the industry.
4. Series of cultural, sports and tourism events to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory.
5. Vietnam has two more heritages recognized by UNESCO in the list of Documentary Heritage of the Asia-Pacific region and the list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
6. Cultural industry makes breakthroughs with programs of great stature, appeal and social impact.
7. The new Vietnam Military History Museum officially opened, attracting a large number of domestic and foreign tourists; affirming the stature and scale of a modern cultural institution, a highlight in the series of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army.
8. The Prime Minister attended the Forum on promoting Vietnamese tourism and cultural cooperation abroad.
9. First time promoting Vietnamese tourism and cinema in the United States.
10. Vietnam tourism recovered strongly after the pandemic, welcoming about 17 million international tourists and 120 million domestic tourists.
11. Tra Que Vegetable Village, Hoi An City, Quang Nam Province was recognized as the Best Tourist Village in 2024 by the United Nations Tourism Organization (UN Tourism).
12. Official operation of Ban Gioc Waterfall Scenic Area (Vietnam) - Detian (China).
13. The Vietnamese women's volleyball team won the world championship for the first time and the Asian championship for the second time.
14. Athlete Le Van Cong won the Bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Paralympics.
15. Vietnam women's futsal team won Southeast Asia championship.
