On July 30, in Vinh Long , Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper and Cuu Long University held a signing ceremony of a comprehensive cooperation agreement between the two units.
Attending the signing ceremony, on behalf of Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper (SGGP), there were: Journalist Nguyen Thanh Loi, Party Secretary, Permanent Deputy Editor-in-Chief; representatives of the editorial board, SGGP Investment and Finance Publication, and SGGP Newspaper Representative Office in the Mekong Delta. On behalf of Cuu Long University, there were: Associate Professor, Dr. Luong Minh Cu, Principal; Dr. Nguyen Thanh Dung, Vice Principal; and members of the University Council; representatives of the leaders of the university's professional departments and offices.
Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Luong Minh Cu, Rector of Cuu Long University, acknowledged that SGGP Newspaper is a Party newspaper with a long history of development, an official and prestigious information channel, which is interested in, followed and received by readers across the country. Therefore, the signing of cooperation with SGGP Newspaper will bring opportunities to promote the image, scale and training quality of Cuu Long University to a large number of people, students, businesses, localities, employers, etc. Thereby, contributing to promoting the development of Cuu Long University in particular and theeducation sector of the whole country in general.
Introducing the school, Associate Professor, Dr. Luong Minh Cu said that Cuu Long University was established on January 5, 2000, the first non-public university in the Mekong Delta region, with a total area of 23.6 hectares. Currently, the school has a high-quality, prestigious, and highly qualified teaching staff of more than 800 staff and lecturers, meeting the training needs of 25,000 to 30,000 undergraduate and graduate students.
In 2024, Cuu Long University developed 3 new undergraduate training majors, bringing the total number of enrolled majors to 32, with 78 undergraduate majors in 4 main majors, including: Health Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities, Engineering - Technology, Economics - Finance. To date, the school has trained and awarded degrees to nearly 32,000 bachelors, engineers and more than 1,000 masters.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, journalist Nguyen Thanh Loi, Party Secretary and Permanent Deputy Editor-in-Chief of SGGP Newspaper, affirmed that SGGP Newspaper is a Party newspaper belonging to the main political press group of the whole country. In addition to the daily newspaper, SGGP Newspaper also has other publications such as SGGP Chinese, Investment Finance, SGGP Electronic... which are trusted and followed by a large number of readers.
Journalist Nguyen Thanh Loi said that the signing of a comprehensive cooperation agreement between SGGP Newspaper and Cuu Long University is very necessary, suitable to the needs and potential of the two units.
The Permanent Deputy Editor-in-Chief of SGGP Newspaper believes that, along with the existing advantages and extensive experience, the comprehensive cooperation program will contribute to promoting the activities of SGGP Newspaper and Cuu Long University to develop further in the coming time.
In addition to the cooperation contents, the Council of Cuu Long University proposed that in the coming time, it will coordinate with SGGP Newspaper to organize cultural and artistic events; seminars, scientific conferences at regional, national and international scales; support the construction of the school's electronic magazine, digital transformation work; accompany international cooperation programs in the field of training...
