Typhoon Kajiki is about to make landfall, a series of flights are delayed and canceled

(Dan Tri) - Many airlines have announced flight delays and cancellations on August 25 due to Typhoon Kajiki. Many other flights may be affected in a chain reaction.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, due to the impact of storm No. 5, on August 25, Tho Xuan Airport (Thanh Hoa) will be closed from 4:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Dong Hoi Airport (Quang Tri) will be closed from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Flights to and from Tho Xuan and Dong Hoi airports of Vietjet and Vietnam Airlines have had to adjust their operating schedules because these two airports have temporarily stopped receiving aircraft on August 25.

Vietnam Airlines has also announced adjustments to the operation plan of some flights on August 25 to ensure the safety of passengers and crew.

Specifically, at Dong Hoi airport ( Quang Binh ), on August 25, flights VN1404 and VN1405 between Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Hoi; VN1591 and VN1590 between Hanoi and Dong Hoi will be canceled.

At Tho Xuan airport ( Thanh Hoa ) on August 25, flights between Thanh Hoa and Ho Chi Minh City, including VN1273 and VN1272; VN7270 and VN7271; VN1276 and VN1277; VN7276 and VN7275; VN7079 and VN7078; VN1278 and VN1279 will be canceled.

In addition, the airline also said that many domestic and international flights may also be affected by the developments of storm No. 5. Affected passengers will be supported by the airline according to regulations.

The airline also recommends that passengers wear seat belts throughout the flight, especially in severe weather conditions. Wearing seat belts, even when the signal light is off, is an important measure to help reduce the risk of air turbulence.

Similarly, Vietjet also said that some flights to and from Tho Xuan (Thanh Hoa), Vinh (Nghe An), Dong Hoi (Quang Binh), Phu Bai (Hue) and some other airports in the storm-affected area may have to adjust their operation plans on August 25.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, in addition to the four airports directly affected by storm No. 5, namely Tho Xuan, Vinh (Nghe An), Dong Hoi and Phu Bai (Hue City), airports such as Noi Bai, Cat Bi, Van Don, Da Nang, Chu Lai and Pleiku, need to proactively update information in case the storm has unusual developments.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting at 10:00 p.m. on August 24, the center of storm Kajiki was about 330km from Nghe An and about 310km from Ha Tinh to the East Southeast.

The strongest wind in the storm center is level 14 (150-166km/h), gusting to level 17. Storm No. 5 moves mainly to the West, traveling 15-20km per hour and is likely to strengthen.

At 10:00 a.m. on August 25, storm No. 5 was in the southern Gulf of Tonkin; about 140 km from Nghe An and 110 km east-southeast of Ha Tinh. The strongest wind in the storm center was level 14, gusting to level 17.

Due to the influence of storm No. 5, the Northwestern East Sea has winds of level 7-9, near the storm center level 10-12, gusting to level 16. Waves are 5-7m high, near the storm center 7-9m high, the sea is very rough.
