Vung Ang evacuated more than 4,000 people due to heavy rain caused by storm No. 5

(Baohatinh.vn) - Due to heavy rain caused by storm No. 5, leaders of Vung Ang ward, Ha Tinh province continue to evacuate people to safety.

Faced with complicated weather conditions, especially heavy rain, the Party Committee and authorities of Vung Ang ward immediately evacuated more than 1,000 households, about 4,000 people, to a safe place.

Police and military forces were present in Vung Ang ward to assist people in emergency evacuation.

The elderly are given priority to be taken to safe shelters by means of transport.

Households quickly packed up their belongings and were assisted by local officials in transporting them.

Children are carried and piggybacked to ensure absolute safety.

Trucks and many other vehicles were mobilized to transport people and property.

People temporarily take shelter at safe places, waiting for the water to recede and the storm to pass.

"To ensure the safety of the people, from early afternoon, we issued orders to evacuate people to safe areas. All forces of the commune were mobilized, with the goal of ensuring the safety of the people above all," said Mr. Tran Xuan Phuong - Secretary of the Party Committee of Vung Ang Ward.
