Bale wants to own his hometown team. |
The Sun revealed that Bale had submitted a £40m bid to buy a majority stake in Cardiff, who have endured a difficult season after being relegated from the Championship and into League One in May.
Previously, Bale and his associates wanted to take over another club, Plymouth Argyle, but failed. Currently, the former Real Madrid star is focusing on negotiations to own Cardiff, the place where he was born and has many beautiful memories. Bale first publicly announced his intention to own Cardiff at a movie premiere in Europe late last month.
"We are very interested in buying Cardiff," said Bale. "It's my hometown club, where I grew up. My uncle played for the team."
The former Real Madrid star also added that taking ownership of Cardiff would be a dream come true. He wants to contribute to the development of Cardiff, bringing the team back to the Premier League.

Bale is serious about the Cardiff deal. |
Cardiff's current owner, Vincent Tan, is a businessman based in Malaysia. He is also open to any offers to sell the club.
Vincent Tan has been Cardiff's largest shareholder since 2010. The Malaysian businessman has invested around £200m in the club over the years. However, Cardiff have just suffered a terrible milestone when they were relegated for the first time in over 20 years.
The Sun revealed that Bale's first offer to Mr. Vincent Tan was rejected. The two sides are negotiating to find a common voice.
Bale retired two years ago, ending an illustrious career. The former Welsh star won a series of titles, especially 5 Champions League titles with Real Madrid. For the national team, Bale also made 111 appearances and scored 41 goals.
Luka Modric, Bale's former team-mate at Real Madrid and Tottenham, has also bought a minority stake in Swansea City for £1m.
