According to a leader of Ngoc Hien district, because the incident happened on the river, it is not yet determined whether it was an oxygen tank explosion or another cause. Currently, the river water level is high and the flow is fast, making the search for the three missing people difficult.

At 2 p.m., authorities mobilized dozens of people to continue searching for the three victims. Ngoc Hien District Police are determining the location and investigating the cause of the explosion.

Cai Lon River, also known as Cua Lon, runs through Ca Mau province for nearly 60 km, connecting Bo De and Ong Trang estuaries, with an average width of 200 m. At the site of the accident, the river was nearly 400 m wide.
