Arsenal clear striker after welcoming Madueke

The Standard reports that Trossard has agreed to join Fenerbahce, managed by Jose Mourinho. The Turkish club are willing to pay £17m for Trossard, who is 30 and has just one year left on his Arsenal contract.

Previously, Trossard's representatives and Arsenal had negotiated a contract extension but failed to reach a conclusion. Trossard wanted to play more but this was not guaranteed by coach Mikel Arteta.

Trossard's departure is part of Arsenal's attack overhaul as they prepare for the 2025/26 season. Trossard's place at Arsenal has been under threat following the arrival of Noni Madueke, a £52m signing from Chelsea. Madueke is expected to sign a five-year contract at the Emirates.

However, the deal has been heavily criticised by Arsenal fans. Last season's statistics showed Madueke only scored 7 goals and had 3 assists in the Premier League, while Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli both had better records.

Viktor Gyokeres is Arsenal's number one target for the striker. But Sporting CP's stubbornness has prevented the Gunners from achieving their goal. Arsenal are still £4.3 million short of meeting the Portuguese partner's £68.9 million price tag.
