According to Marca (Spain), Carlos Alcaraz has decided to withdraw from the 2025 Canadian Open. The Spanish tennis player has not officially announced it, but it is unlikely that he will change his decision.
Carlos Alcaraz wants more time off after losing the 2025 Wimbledon final to Jannik Sinner on July 13. Alcaraz will return at the 2025 Cincinnati Open before entering the 2025 US Open in the US.

The Spanish star has dominated on grass since 2022, winning four titles in five finals. Alcaraz continued his dominance with a third consecutive Wimbledon final at the age of 22.
Alcaraz has been on a roll this season, winning the Monte Carlo Masters, Rome Masters and Roland Garros. Despite having less time to prepare for the transition to grass, Alcaraz has maintained his form and reached the 2025 Wimbledon final.
Alcaraz's next goal is the 2025 US Open, which will take place from August 24 to September 7 in New York (USA). Last year, Alcaraz was eliminated in the second round of this tournament and he came to the US determined to find the 6th Grand Slam of his career.
In addition to Alcaraz, Sinner and Djokovic, Jack Draper will also miss the 2025 Canadian Open due to injury. Alexander Zverev is the top seed at the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Canada and the German star's rivals for the title include Taylor Fritz, Lorenzo Musetti, Holger Rune, Denis Shapovalov and Felix Auger-Aliassime.
