Alaba is being watched by two Turkish clubs. |
David Alaba's future at Real Madrid is becoming a hot topic as both Fenerbahce and Besiktas have expressed their desire to own the Austrian centre-back before the Turkish transfer window closes on September 12.
According to Defensa Central , Alaba is no longer in coach Xabi Alonso's long-term plans. In the order of choice in defense, he is only fifth, behind Antonio Rudiger, Eder Militao, Dean Huijsen and Raul Asencio. This has caused the former Bayern Munich star's playing time to decrease sharply. At the age of 33, constant injuries make it even more difficult for him to regain the stable form he had in his early days with the Royal team.
Alaba is currently contracted to Real Madrid until June 2026, but the club have no intention of extending it. However, the player himself has repeatedly stated that he will see out his current deal, despite the leadership team believing that it is time for the Austrian to leave.
Meanwhile, both Fenerbahce and Besiktas are in the market for reinforcements after disappointing results in Europe. An experienced centre-back like Alaba would be ideal, especially if the deal could be done on loan or for free to save money. However, the biggest obstacle is that the player is not ready to leave Spain right now.
Since joining Real in 2021, Alaba has made 134 official appearances for the team. Despite his struggles, he has insisted he is determined to improve his form, while his near future remains uncertain.
