The first 4 private schools open registration portals for 10th grade admission for the 2025-2026 school year

(Dan Tri) - Private high schools will accept applications as early as December 9.

Nguyen Sieu Secondary and High School accepts registration for grade 10 admission from December 9 for students currently studying grade 9 at the school and from March 17, 2025 for students from other schools.

The school has another registration period in July 2025, for students who apply with the results of the public 10th grade exam organized by the Departmentof Education and Training (DoET).

As every year, the school only recruits students for class 10AE (Intensive Academic English class).

In addition to the top priority group of students studying at the school, other priority groups include: Students with Cambridge English/ IELTS/ SAT/ AP certificates above their age level, students with other international certificates certified by universities and prestigious international organizations recognized by the Department of Quality Assessment, Ministry of Education and Training ; excellent students at district, city and national levels, students who have won awards in arts and sports.

Ngoi Sao Hoang Mai Primary, Secondary and High School announces enrollment of 350 students for grade 10 for the 2025-2026 school year. The official registration portal opens today, December 2. The registration portal will close when the school has reached its enrollment quota.

The registration fee for grade 10 of this school is 500,000 VND.

The school has 4 admission methods, including direct admission, capacity assessment test, examination results for specialized schools and examination results for grade 10 public schools organized by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training.

Students who win excellent student awards at district level or higher, win first prize or gold medals in sports and art competitions at city level or higher, win cups in The World Scholar's Cup debate competition or win bronze medals or higher in some online math competitions will have the opportunity to be directly admitted to the school.

The school plans to organize direct admission from now until the end of February 2025. Candidates applying for direct admission must have a letter of recommendation from a teacher and an essay about themselves in Vietnamese or English.

Candidates who register for the capacity assessment will participate in the Hoang Mai Star Scholarship exam on March 8, 2025. Students currently studying in grade 9 at the school will be given priority to add 1 point/subject.

Students who take the entrance exam to specialized schools with scores 2 points lower than the standard score will be able to apply to the school using this result.

In addition, the school considers the results of the public 10th grade exam according to the formula: Admission score = [(Math score + English score) x 2] + Literature score.

In addition to the above two schools, Newton Secondary and High School and Vietnam-Australia Inter-level School have also opened registration portals for admission to grade 10 for the 2025-2026 school year since the end of November.

Newton School is recruiting for both campuses at Hoang Quoc Viet and Ho Tung Mau. Detailed recruitment information is not yet available, however parents and students can access the registration link to fill in their information and wishes for grade 10.

Every December is the time when private high schools in Hanoi announce their 10th grade enrollment for the next school year. Last year, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training did not allow private schools to organize their own entrance exams, but only considered transcripts or public 10th grade exam results.

However, in reality, schools still organize competency assessment tests or combine interview and talent selection methods to ensure input quality.
