3 groups of problems that female entrepreneurs are facing

Ms. Nguyen Lan Huong - Vice President of Hanoi Association of Women Entrepreneurs (HNEW), Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Viet Phuc Joint Stock Company (VPEXCO) - shared a lot of useful information related to legal support for businesses at the Seminar "Legal support for small and medium enterprises owned by women".

Currently, the State and provinces have issued many policies to support businesses in general and support small and medium-sized enterprises owned by women in particular. However, according to Ms. Nguyen Lan Huong, currently, female entrepreneurs still have some difficulties in the process of managing and operating businesses.

Problems facing female entrepreneurs

Regarding policy and legal issues, Ms. Lan Huong shared that there are 3 groups of problems that female entrepreneurs encounter.

The first group is the group of legal policies, legal issues that policies related to businesses, investors, business registration procedures, and business registration conditions at the beginning of business establishment.

The second group is the group of legal issues related to labor, tax, social insurance and conditions that businesses and business owners must pay attention to and need to pay attention to. These issues occur regularly, daily or directly affect the operation of the business.

The third group of issues is the group of legal issues related to women and or female business groups - the subjects directly or indirectly affected. For example, the groups of policy subjects that affect, for example, the group of policies affecting female business owners, female workers in enterprises...

The seminar "Supporting legal advice for small and medium-sized enterprises owned by women" had the participation of the following guests: Lawyer: Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy - Chau Phong Law Firm, Hanoi Bar Association; Ms. Nguyen Lan Huong - Vice President of Hanoi Businesswomen Association (HNEW); also Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Viet Phuc Joint Stock Company (VPEXCO); Ms. Luong Thi Hai Yen, Director of NYD Construction Investment and Services Joint Stock Company.

Ms. Lan Huong also shared: In fact, the Hanoi Women Entrepreneurs Association receives a lot of information about support policies. In particular, Hanoi is also one of the first localities in the country to have a separate resolution issued by the City People's Council in December 2021 to support small and medium-sized enterprises in the city and mentions support for female business owners and businesses with many employees and women starting businesses. However, not all female entrepreneurs have information and take advantage of the advantages of these support policies.

Female entrepreneurs should proactively seek out trusted addresses to receive support.

Like many other female entrepreneurs, Ms. Nguyen Lan Huong said that from the beginning of her business until now, she has faced different difficulties at each stage of her journey. From her own experiences, Ms. Lan Huong gave advice to women who are starting their business journey.

Firstly, female entrepreneurs should proactively learn basic legal knowledge, including Enterprise Law, Social Insurance Law, and Tax Accounting Law.

Second, female business owners can seek advice and support from places like the Policy and Law Department of the Vietnam Women's Union.

Third , female entrepreneurs should proactively participate in business organizations such as clubs or local small and medium-sized enterprise associations, Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association; associations, women entrepreneurs' associations, etc.

The Vietnam Association of Women Entrepreneurs (VAWE, an organization under the Vietnam Women's Union) currently has a network in 34 provinces and cities, with many activities to support, connect, and provide additional information, knowledge, and skills for female entrepreneurs to expand their business network and receive legal support and advice when necessary.

Regarding the Hanoi Association of Women Entrepreneurs (HNEW), Ms. Lan Huong said that the Association's office is located at the Intellectual Palace, with a dedicated legal advisory team for businesses, with the participation of lawyers, always ready to provide free legal advice to business owners every Wednesday afternoon. In addition, the Hanoi Association of Women Entrepreneurs has also organized programs to disseminate knowledge of the Law, new policies and legal documents through digital platforms...

These are support channels that female small and medium business owners can participate in to learn about current legal policies to run their businesses more effectively.
