Exploiting the advantages of red basalt land, aiming for sustainable export
Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Thanh said that Gia Lai is a land with great potential for developing key crops such as coffee, pepper, rubber, fruits and medicinal herbs. Together with the transport infrastructure system, Quy Nhon seaport and Le Thanh international border gate, the province has the advantage to form a sustainable production - processing - consumption chain to serve exports.
In the first 6 months of 2025, Gia Lai achieved a GRDP growth rate of 7.5%, with total export turnover reaching 2.3 billion USD, up 30.9% over the same period. Many key agricultural products such as coffee, pepper, rubber latex, fresh and deeply processed fruits have affirmed their position in the Chinese market. Some typical enterprises have played a key role in building raw material areas, developing processing technology and transparent traceability, meeting international standards.
In the coming time, Gia Lai province has identified the key task as continuing to strongly improve the investment environment, focusing on investing in completing the socio -economic infrastructure system, especially transport infrastructure, logistics, seaports and border gates, to strengthen regional and international connectivity, reduce transportation costs, and enhance the competitiveness of agricultural export products. Industrial zones and clusters are also planned synchronously, serving the needs of deep processing, preservation and distribution of goods.
In the agricultural sector, Gia Lai aims to build large-scale, concentrated raw material areas in line with international standards; encourage businesses to invest in modern processing technology, ensuring transparent traceability of origin, meeting strict requirements from the Chinese market and other international markets.
The province encourages the production - processing - consumption linkage model, taking enterprises as the core and farmers as the main subjects, aiming at sustainable development and increasing the added value of products.
At the conference, enterprises from Guangxi and Gia Lai provinces signed 7 memorandums of understanding on cooperation; opening up opportunities to realize the goal of bringing agricultural products and processed products of Gia Lai province to deeply access the Chinese market.
