On the afternoon of September 1 (Vietnam time), Leverkusen Club suddenly announced the dismissal of coach Erik Ten Hag after only a short time in charge. Previously, two former Man United coaches, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Jose Mourinho, also suffered the same fate.
On August 29, coach Solskjaer was fired by Turkish club Besiktas after the team failed to qualify for the 2025-2026 Europa Conference League group stage.
In the play-off round, Besiktas drew 1-1 with Lausanne in the first leg but lost 1-2 in the second leg, with a total score of 2-3. The board of directors believes that Solskjaer did not complete the goal of participating in the European Cup, causing the club to lose a large source of income from UEFA and sponsors.
Just 11 hours later (August 29), coach Jose Mourinho also had his contract terminated by Turkish club Fenerbahce because he could not qualify for the Champions League qualifiers.
This defeat forced Fenerbahce to play in the Europa League, a result that the board of directors did not accept.
In addition, the Portuguese coach also left empty-handed in his first season, when Fenerbahce only finished second in the 2024-2025 Turkish Super League, 11 points behind Galatasaray.

On September 1, coach Erik Ten Hag continued to be fired by Bayer Leverkusen, just two months after being appointed (July 1, 2025).
This is the first team he has managed since leaving Man United at the end of October last year. In his short time, Ten Hag has only managed 3 official matches, including 2 Bundesliga matches, with the results of 1 win, 1 draw, 1 loss.
According to Sport Bible , Ten Hag's dismissal means that in just 72 hours, three former Man United coaches have lost their jobs.
