3 Central localities join hands to promote tourism in Australia

DNVN - On September 11 in Melbourne, the tourism industry of Thua Thien Hue - Da Nang - Quang Nam joined hands to introduce the tourism brand "Amazing Central Vietnam Heritage" to Australia.

According to Director of Da Nang Department of Tourism Truong Thi Hong Hanh, the program aims to promote tourism development cooperation between Vietnam and Australia, especially connecting the Australian tourist market with the Central region. At the same time, it will strengthen communication, promotion and introduction of the tourism brand "Amazing Central Vietnam Heritage" to Australia.

“This is a common tourism brand jointly developed by Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang , and Quang Nam, positioning the international tourist market and emphasizing the heritage value of the land. The “miraculous heritage land” is increasingly affirming the position of the Central region as a unique cultural, historical and natural tourist destination on the international tourism map” – Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam Nguyen Thanh Hong added.

Speaking to 27 tourism businesses from 3 localities and nearly 100 delegates representing tourism businesses and press agencies in Australia attending the event, Ms. Truong Thi Hong Hanh emphasized that with increasingly convenient connections from direct flights between Australia and Vietnam, the Central region is expected to be a favorite destination for sustainable eco-tourism, beach resorts, MICE and golf for Australian tourists.

At the program, the tourism industry of the three localities coordinated to organize many activities to promote and develop tourism, including a space to connect businesses, screening films promoting tourism in the Central region, providing information on direct flights connecting Australia - Vietnam, tourism products and services, and organizing a discussion on increasing tourist exchange between Australia and the Central region.

Many Australian partners have assessed that, along with possessing many world cultural, historical and natural heritages, the land of Thua Thien Hue - Da Nang - Quang Nam also has a clean, green and beautiful environment, security and safety, international-class entertainment areas, a system of 7 golf courses designed by world-famous golfers. Immediately after the event in Melbourne, the tourism industry of the three localities will continue to organize the program "Heritage Journey" at the Da Nang City Investment and Tourism Promotion Conference in Sydney. Ms. Doan Thi Thanh Mai, First Secretary of the Vietnamese Embassy in Australia, commented that the program to introduce Central Vietnam tourism is one of the practical activities in implementing the Government's agreement to upgrade bilateral relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership (CSP).

According to information at the program, Australia is currently in the top 10 international tourist markets of Central Vietnam. In the first 7 months of 2024, the total number of Australian visitors staying in Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang and Quang Nam reached about 165 thousand, accounting for nearly 59% of the total number of Australian visitors in Vietnam.

“Compared to 2019, the peak period of international tourism, the total number of Australian visitors to the Central region in the first 7 months of 2024 increased by nearly 120%. This shows the ability to restore the tourism economy and forecasts the attractiveness and growth of Australian visitors to the Central region destination,” said Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc - Director of Thua Thien Hue Department of Tourism.
