10 Vietnamese universities in the top 1,500 best universities in the world

(Dan Tri) - Quacquarelli Symonds, a unit specializing in analyzing university training data, has just released a ranking of the 1,500 best universities in the world, with 10 representatives from Vietnam.

Most Vietnamese universities tend to move up in the rankings or are honored to appear in the rankings for the first time.

Duy Tan University rose 13 places to 482nd, leading the rankings among 10 Vietnamese universities ranked by QS this time.

Ton Duc Thang University ranked second, moving up 27 places to 684th. Ranked third and fourth are Hanoi National University (ranked 761-770) and Ho Chi Minh City National University (ranked 801-850), respectively.

The four universities ranked by QS for the first time are Van Lang University, Can Tho University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Da Nang University.

Hanoi University of Science and Technology maintained its ranking of 1,201-1,400 compared to last year. Only Hue University dropped in rank, from group 1,201-1,400 to group 1,401+.

This year, QS surveyed more than 1,500 higher education institutions in more than 100 countries and territories. Based on this ranking, the top powers in the field of higher education in the world today include the US (with 192 ranked universities), the UK (90 schools), China (72 schools), India (54 schools) and Germany (48 schools).

Asia is considered to be the region with remarkable growth in the field of higher education with a total of 565 ranked schools.

Ranked in the top 5 best universities in the world by QS are Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA), Imperial College London (UK), Stanford University (USA), Oxford University (UK), and Harvard University (USA).

Since 2010, QS World University Rankings has annually published a ranking of the quality of universities in the world. Previously, its partner was the British education magazine Times Higher Education. Since 2010, QS World University Rankings has published its own rankings.

The 10 criteria used by QS World University Rankings to rank universities include: the school's academic reputation (shown through research results, the number of published and cited scientific articles), faculty reputation (ratio of students and lecturers in each faculty, number of PhDs in the teaching staff), level of international connections (international research collaboration activities, number of international exchange students annually, number of foreign lecturers), rate of students having jobs after graduation, level of sustainable development...

The QS World University Rankings are considered the most prestigious in the world, alongside rankings published by Times Higher Education and Shanghai Ranking.
