Touching photo series 'Waiting for me is brilliant': Messages from all over Hanoi streets to support students during exam season

On the eve of the 2025 National High School Exam, a special photo series called “Waiting for me is brilliant” has attracted attention from the online community. Without flashy lights or elaborate props, the photo series captures everyday moments of the iced tea seller, the porter, the vegetable seller... along with emotional messages to the candidates.

“Drink some cool water, stay alert for the exam!”, “Dad can carry heavy bags, you can carry the exam papers.”, “A full stomach and warm meal, I hope you can pass the exam with peace of mind.” - Simple but full of humane words. In each look and smile of the workers is their whole heart for the young generation before the important moment of their lives.

Ms. Huong has been selling water at the gate of Phan Huy Chu High School for many years, witnessing many generations of students grow up. She advised: “I wish you all good luck in your exams, do your best, stay calm, be confident and you will succeed.”

Ms. Tham works in environmental sanitation. She confided: "I wish you all good luck in your exams. Study for the exams but don't work too hard. After you finish your homework, rest. Just do your best and you'll be happy!"

Uncle Hoang works as a porter at Dong Xuan market. This year, his child is taking the university entrance exam. He said: “If you are tired, rest and then continue, like me, a porter here. If you are tired, rest and then continue carrying. After the exam, come home, eat hot rice, and tell stories about the exam for fun. That is precious!”

Ms. Thu works as a vegetable seller at the market and once took her children to the exam. She encouraged them: “Moms will stay home, pick vegetables, cook rice and wait for you to come home. After the exam, come home and have dinner with your parents!”

Hoang Anh’s child is taking the 10th grade entrance exam this year. He shared: “High or low scores are not important. What is important is that the children have done their best and tried their best, that’s ok!”

Uncle Thinh works as a security guard at the school. He sends his best wishes: “You are almost there, keep up the good work. I wish you all pass your exams and you will receive gifts if you pass!”
