In addition, the Steering Committees at all levels have mobilized social support to build and repair 225 more houses for poor and near-poor households and families with housing difficulties, but not included in the approved Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, with a total additional budget of over 11 billion VND.
The Steering Committee for the implementation of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in An Giang province assessed that, right from the beginning of the program implementation, there were many documents directing and guiding all levels of sectors and localities to implement and monitor the progress; mobilizing social resources, cooperation from cadres, party members, businesses, organizations, and philanthropists with both finance and support for the construction industry.
The program has helped thousands of poor, near-poor households and policy families in the locality to build and repair solid houses. Thereby contributing to sustainable poverty reduction, improving the quality of life, ensuring social security, with the motto: "Everyone has a stable and safe place to live, no one is left behind".

However, completing the plan to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses early is only the beginning. It is necessary to determine that the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses is not only during the peak period, it must become a sustainable journey so that all people have stable and safe housing, and no one is left behind.
"Newly built and solidly repaired houses are the foundation for people to settle down and work, contributing to sustainable poverty reduction and promoting comprehensive socio -economic development. An Giang province today and in the future will continue to accompany the people, continue to review and update cases of housing difficulties to promptly have support plans, not leaving anyone behind," said Mr. Quang.
