An Giang finishes early the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses

On the morning of June 25, the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee for the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in An Giang province (referred to as the Provincial Steering Committee) held a conference to summarize the Program for eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the province in 2025.

According to the Provincial Steering Committee, An Giang has completed the Program to eliminate temporary and leaky houses 2 months ahead of the Government 's regulations. Specifically, it completed the construction and repair of 3,135 houses for people with meritorious services to the revolution, poor and near-poor households, including 464 houses for people with meritorious services; 2,671 houses for poor and near-poor households, with a total implementation cost of over 207.2 billion VND.

On behalf of the Provincial Steering Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee of An Giang Province Le Hong Quang acknowledged and commended the sense of responsibility of all levels, sectors, localities, armed forces, businesses, philanthropists, and people who have accompanied and contributed to the success of the program; adding strength and confidence to thousands of families on the journey to settle down, escape poverty sustainably and improve their lives. The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee emphasized that in the coming time, the province will continue to review and update the list of households with housing difficulties to have timely and effective support solutions.

At the same time, it is recommended that Party committees, authorities, and the Fatherland Front at all levels continue to propagate and create social consensus to join hands and take care of the material and spiritual lives of the people, especially those who have contributed to the revolution, the poor, the disadvantaged, and those in difficult circumstances, so that no one is left behind.

Along with that, synchronously and effectively implement preferential policies for people with revolutionary contributions; sustainable poverty reduction policies. For households that have received support to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, it is recommended that Party committees and local authorities regularly propagate to raise awareness, arouse the will to self-reliance, support jobs, loans... so that people can develop the economy , stabilize their lives, and escape poverty.

On this occasion, the People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 51 collectives and 45 individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province.
