Kaspersky has just discovered Necro malware hidden in two popular applications on the Google Play Store. The first app was Wuta Camera - a photo editing tool with more than 10 million downloads, infected with malware in an old update.
The second application is Max Browser - a web browser that is capable of automatically installing malware and registering for services secretly. Necro malware silently takes over devices, tracks users and causes money in accounts to "evaporate" without a trace.
Although Wuta Camera has updated the patch, users are still advised to delete it immediately to avoid the risk of re-infection in the future. Security experts emphasize the need to regularly check phones using the Play Protect tool on CH Play. However, Play Protect only detects apps that have been flagged by Google as dangerous, not all new malware.
Users need to be highly vigilant and only install applications from reputable sources to avoid turning their phones into tools for hackers. Readers are invited to watch more videos : Iris scanning tool to verify human identity | VTV24
