After winning the Southeast Asian U23 Championship, Vietnam U23 entered the 2026 Asian U23 qualifying round - a tournament no less important than the 33rd SEA Games.

U23 Vietnam will meet Bangladesh (7pm on September 3), Singapore (7pm on September 6) and Yemen (7pm on September 9).

The tournament will be broadcast live onFPT Play, VTV5 and many other free channels. To serve our readers, VietNamNet will also broadcast live the matches in Group C.

Regarding personnel, Coach Kim Sang Sik kept the same squad that just won the Southeast Asian championship, only making small changes when removing Thanh Dat and adding Vietnamese-Bulgarian player Chung Nguyen Do (Vietnamese name is Tran Thanh Trung).

According to the competition format, only the group winners and the four best second-placed teams will qualify for the finals. This forces U23 Vietnam to play with absolute concentration, because the group stage only takes place once.

With home advantage and confidence after recent success, U23 Vietnam aims to qualify and repeat the achievement of reaching the quarter-finals of the 2024 Asian tournament.
