With the attention, facilitation and handover of land according to the commitment of the locality, in January 2024, VINAGREEN Investment and Development Joint Stock Company started construction of VINAGREEN High-Quality Agricultural Products Processing Factory in Trieu Son commune with a scale of 6.5 hectares; total investment of 200 billion VND. Phase 1 of the factory has a rice processing capacity of 100,000 tons/year. Phase 2 of the factory will produce and bring to the market deeply processed agricultural products such as nutritious cereals, coffee, vermicelli, rice noodles, pho... After 1 year of construction, in January 2025, the factory officially operated and the products are now available in many provinces and cities across the country, highly appreciated by consumers for their quality and design.
According to Mr. Do Minh Thuy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of VINAGREEN Investment and Development Joint Stock Company, the agricultural processing factory is invested in and developed by the company based on the chain of links between enterprises and farmers and cooperatives. Currently, the company is focusing on developing concentrated rice production areas in the direction of intensive farming, high productivity and high quality. The growing areas will be cared for according to standard technical processes, preserved and processed according to high quality standards, aiming for export.

Currently, the province has attracted 8 rice processing enterprises with a total capacity of 295 thousand tons/year. Of which, there is 1 facility processing protein-rich brown rice milk with a capacity of 120 million 250 ml boxes/year. The annual rice output purchased and processed by factories accounts for about 16.8% of the total rice output in the province. In sugar cane processing, 2 production and processing enterprises have been attracted with a total capacity of 1.68 million tons/year; the main products are various types of sugar, serving export and the domestic market. The whole province has also attracted 5 enterprises and facilities processing cassava starch with a total capacity of 160,200 tons/year; most of the cassava starch products serve export and a part is used for the domestic market. In addition, the province has also attracted 6 fruit processing enterprises, mainly processing canned pineapple with a total capacity of 13,600 tons/year. 10 enterprises specializing in processing and preserving vegetables with a total capacity of 21,500 tons/year (including 1 enterprise processing deep export products); the province's vegetable output is pre-processed and processed before being put on the market, reaching about 20%, the rest is consumed in raw form. Along with that, processing enterprises and cooperatives have also invested in building 19 warehouses for preserving agricultural products with a total capacity of 5,475 tons.
In order to develop facilities for preserving and processing agricultural products, the agricultural sector and localities in the province are actively implementing solutions to implement the Project "Connecting production, processing and consumption to increase the value of key agricultural products of Thanh Hoa province by 2030". In particular, continuing to attract investment in the agricultural product processing industry, focusing on processing factories in concentrated raw material areas; prioritizing investment projects in preliminary processing and preserving fresh vegetables, fruits, and specialty fruits of each locality with modern technology, helping to reduce the rate of post-harvest losses, especially agricultural products; encouraging and supporting enterprises and cooperatives to continue to expand and form new post-harvest centers, linked to raw material production areas, combining the construction of post-harvest center models with logistics centers.
Along with that, the relevant sectors of the province actively support enterprises to access and invest in modern and advanced production technology to expand production, improve product quality, create products with high added value, and have the ability to compete in the market. In the immediate future, focus on attracting new investment from 2-3 large-scale factories with modern technology to process vegetables and fruits in concentrated production areas. At the same time, develop a system of small-scale vegetable and fruit processing and preliminary processing facilities with capacity and technology suitable to the characteristics and raw material production capacity of localities, in order to diversify the types of processed products, contributing to increasing the proportion of processed agricultural products in the province.
