On July 23, Mr. Nguyen Canh Viet, Deputy Director in charge of Hai Chau Regional Medical Center, said that he had sent a document to the Department of Health and Hai Chau Ward Police to support and coordinate in verifying the incident where people came to get a health check at the center, but were unexpectedly directed to the grocery store across the street, with an additional fee.
Previously, a female TikToker shared her personal experience when going for a health check-up to apply for a job in Da Nang . According to the shared content, this female TikToker went to Hai Chau Regional Medical Center for a health check-up to supplement her job application.

There, a staff member in protective gear said the hospital had stopped providing health check-ups for job applications and pointed to the address across the street. But when crossing the street, the female TikToker only saw a grocery store and no clinic.
Also according to the video, at this grocery store, a woman asked for information about height, weight, and nearsightedness, then arbitrarily "edited" the data to make the profile look good. This person also collected 300,000 VND to take care of the procedures and took her to a private clinic about 400m away.
The female customer shared that when she entered the clinic, she was instructed to do the test. While waiting, she noticed that other people were doing the same procedure but were only charged 100,000 VND.
When she learned that she was charged 300,000 VND for the same service, she realized that she had been "charged" 200,000 VND, so she went back to the woman at the grocery store to ask for 100,000 VND back.
In the recorded video, when she asked for a refund, the woman at the grocery store said: “I do this service to make it quick for you. I will only give you 50,000 VND back. Because I have to pay for this for many people…”
Mr. Nguyen Canh Viet, Deputy Director in charge of Hai Chau Regional Medical Center, affirmed that there is absolutely no policy, agreement, or association with any private clinic or individual outside in conducting health examinations for job applications.
It is not part of the unit's formal reception procedures for staff or people in protective gear to "guide" patients to an opposite address or an unclear facility.
Immediately after receiving the feedback, Hai Chau Regional Medical Center conducted an internal review and worked with relevant departments, including security guards, patient reception staff, and health examination service staff.
If any individual is found to intentionally collude or assist in fraudulent acts or personal gain from people coming to contact for medical examination and treatment, the unit will strictly handle them in accordance with the provisions of the law and the regulations and rules of the agency.
According to the announcement of the Department of Health of Da Nang city, currently Hai Chau Regional Medical Center is only qualified to examine the health of drivers without foreign elements.
If people need a medical examination for a driving record, they need to go to the official reception counter on the first floor of the medical examination area. Do not contact strangers or follow instructions from people who do not wear name tags or hospital uniforms.
The cost of health check-ups at the hospital is publicly listed according to regulations. People can look up the price list at the counter or contact the hotline directly for accurate advice.
Hai Chau Regional Medical Center has requested the authorities to verify and clarify the incident, thoroughly prevent the impersonation and forgery of medical staff for personal gain, causing confusion in public opinion, and defaming the center's staff.
