On the afternoon of June 13, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team won 3-1 against highly rated Kazakhstan. Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team will have to wait for the match between Chinese Taipei and the Philippines to determine their competitors for the AVC Nations Cup championship this year.
And these two teams created an exciting, exciting match that lasted for 5 sets. In set 1, the Philippines quickly took the lead 5-1 and then 12-6. The Southeast Asian representative ended this set with a score of 25-17. In set 2, Chinese Taipei rose strongly but the Philippines still won 25-21.
Leading 2-0, it seemed like the Philippines would end the match soon, but Chinese Taipei played better and better. They did not lose heart, but fought with great vigor.
Chinese Taipei's defense improved significantly, making the Philippines' attacks ineffective. In the third set, they revived their hope by winning 25-18.
Set 4 was another dramatic point-scratching affair. Both teams created many consecutive rallies. Chinese Taipei was the more determined team, winning 25-15 to tie the score at 2-2, bringing the match into a deciding set 5.

At this point, Chinese Taipei started the game better. But the Philippines woke up at the right time, created a gap and won a thrilling 15-12 victory.
Thus, this year's AVC Nations Cup final will be a competition between two Southeast Asian teams, Vietnam and the Philippines. The Vietnamese team won this tournament in 2023 and 2024. Meanwhile, the Philippines' best previous achievement was only third place in 2024.
