The headquarters of the People's Committee of Can Gio commune, reused from the headquarters of the People's Committee of Can Gio district, has been repaired and is ready to operate the new government model from July 1.

I expect the new government model to be closer to the people and serve the people better. What the people expect is a streamlined but effective apparatus that serves them better and better.”
Living in Can Thanh town since 1984, Mr. Huynh Cong Danh shared his joy when coming to do real estate procedures at the One-Stop Department of Can Gio District People's Committee - which is about to become the Public Administration Service Center of the new Can Gio Commune People's Committee.
For him, the model transformation really brings clear benefits to the people. The special thing is that many authorities have been decentralized, giving direct handling power to the commune-level authorities to implement, such as the issuance of red books. This not only creates convenience for the people, but also helps the commune-level authorities promote their role and responsibility in serving the people.
The leader of Can Gio Commune People's Committee shared that Can Gio Commune People's Committee has basically completed the preparation work, such as the reception area and the Public Administration Service Center of the commune have been fully equipped with means and equipment to be ready to put the new apparatus into official operation on July 1.
The commune also arranges cadres and civil servants to ensure the apparatus operates stably and continuously, without interruption in receiving and resolving requests from people and businesses.
On June 30, although the ceremony to announce the resolution and decision on the establishment of a new administrative unit took place, the work of receiving and handling administrative procedures at the People's Committee of Long Hoa commune, Can Thanh town and Can Gio district still took place normally.
It is worth noting that the staff and civil servants of the new communes are ready to enter a new phase, from improving the quality of service to the people to the effectiveness and efficiency of state management.
“Whether they have been attached to the locality for a long time or have just been assigned a task, each cadre and civil servant has special emotions. There is nostalgia, there is nostalgia, but above all, there is a readiness, proactiveness, and positivity to enter the new phase with the highest sense of responsibility,” a leader of Can Gio commune shared.
Can Gio district will now convert the model into 4 communes including: Binh Khanh, An Thoi Dong, Can Gio and Thanh An island commune.
From Can Gio, a resilient mangrove forest area, today a new government model is being operated with many expectations that it will contribute to continuing the innovation story of Ho Chi Minh City, the pioneer city in the country in reforming the apparatus, transforming strongly for the benefit of the people.
