Ho Chi Minh City leaders visit and pay tribute to revolutionary veterans

On behalf of the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City, comrade Nguyen Manh expressed gratitude for the contributions of Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh to the revolutionary cause of national liberation of the country.

On August 27, a delegation of the City Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City led by Comrade Nguyen Manh Cuong, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, revolutionary activists before January 1, 1945 and revolutionary activists from January 1, 1945 to the August Uprising in 1945, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

Visiting and presenting gifts to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh (born in 1930, residing in Tang Nhon Phu ward, a veteran revolutionary cadre), Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Manh Cuong kindly asked about her health and daily routine. He also took the time to listen to stories about Ms. Hanh's time participating in the resistance war and noted her advice for the city's current leaders.

In the atmosphere of the historic August days and National Day September 2, on behalf of the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City, comrade Nguyen Manh expressed gratitude for the contributions of Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh to the revolutionary cause of national liberation of the country; at the same time affirmed that the leaders and people of Ho Chi Minh City always remember that gratitude.

Sharing more with Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh, he said that after the merger, the Central Government has set very high requirements and great expectations for the development of Ho Chi Minh City. This is not only the requirement of the Party and the State but also the desire of veteran revolutionaries; it is the desire of the Party Committee, the government and the people of the city.

Comrade Nguyen Manh Cuong promised to try his best to unite and unify the entire city's political system to carry out the tasks of local development and Ho Chi Minh City development, contributing to the overall development of the country, meeting the wishes and expectations of veteran revolutionary cadres.

Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Manh Cuong wished Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh good health, a happy and long life with her children and grandchildren.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh was born into a family with a revolutionary tradition in Thua Thien Hue province. She joined the revolution in 1943, working as a liaison to deliver documents and letters to comrades who were working in secret. In 1946, she worked in the propaganda volunteer group of Thua Thien province. In 1947, she was captured by the enemy and imprisoned in Thua Phu trench, then worked at the District Party Committee and the Propaganda Department.

In 2024, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh was honored to receive the 80-year Party membership badge.
