During the peak season of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd in Hanoi , there are very few seats left on some flights and trains. Therefore, passengers should proactively book early and choose their travel itinerary.
Night flights are cheaper than day flights.
A survey on airline ticket sales sites shows that if passengers travel on August 30, Ho Chi Minh City-Hanoi route, Vietnam Airlines ticket prices range from 1.95-3.76 million VND/ticket. Vietjet is lower with prices ranging from 1.97-2.1 million VND. Bamboo Airways prices range from 1.9-3.5 million VND.
On the Da Nang-Hanoi route, Bamboo Airways tickets are also very limited with prices ranging from 1.5-3.2 million VND. Vietnam Airlines still has many seats and is selling tickets for 1.3-2.4 million VND. Vietjet Air has tickets for 1.3-2.2 million VND.
Hanoi-Phu Quoc route, Vietnam Airlines has 3 direct flights but only one flight has an economy ticket price but it is also very high, up to 3.4 million VND and there are few seats left. Vietjet price is 2.5-3.3 million VND and there are many tickets left.

Vietjet Air also added 10,000 seats from August 30 to September 2 on many routes connecting major economic and tourist centers such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, Hue, etc.
In addition to requiring additional flights on routes with high demand, especially flights to/from Hanoi in the days before and after the holidays, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam also directed airlines to strictly implement legal regulations on domestic air transport prices, sell tickets within the price range and price policy of the airline; strictly control ticket sales activities of agents, ensuring prices comply with regulations.
Train tickets to Hanoi sold out
With railways, some routes such as Lao Cai, Vinh to Hanoi on August 31 - September 1 are all "sold out" even though the train company has increased the maximum capacity.
On the Nha Trang-Hanoi route on August 31, sleeper cars from cars 3-11 or high-quality soft seats in car 1 were full, only a few air-conditioned soft seat cars remained, and the official website for buying train tickets recorded that there were only a few seats left on this route.
The Hue-Hanoi route on the same day also saw a booking capacity of over 80%. The ticketing system displayed bright red with a red flag with a yellow star (booked tickets) in the sleeper compartments on trains SE12, SE2, SE8. However, there are still many soft air-conditioned seats on this route.
To meet the increasing travel demand, in addition to regular daily trains, the Railway Transport Joint Stock Company will increase 51 trains to serve the travel needs of people during the National Day holiday on September 2, 2025.
On September 2, in addition to the regular, fixed train pairs running every day (4 train pairs/day), the Railway industry will organize 7 more trains on the Hanoi-Hai Phong route.

Accordingly, VNR will temporarily stop organizing trains to the center of Hanoi (Hanoi-Giap Bat section, Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City railway line) from 8:10 p.m. to 11 p.m. on August 27, from 3 a.m. to 12 p.m. on August 30 and September 2.
During the above days and times, the North-South railway train will stop to drop off and pick up passengers at Giap Bat Station instead of Hanoi Station as usual.
At other times until 12:00 on September 2, trains passing through the section Km0+595-Km1+800 will reduce speed to below 10km/h to ensure safety.
In addition, from 6:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. on the days of the National Day Celebration on September 2, VNR will arrange officers and employees to coordinate with the police force at the section from lane 222 Le Duan to the Giai Phong-Dai Co Viet intersection to propagate and guide people not to walk, stand, or sit on the railway when the parades and marches move to ensure absolute safety for the people./.
