Filipino boxer injures himself during warm-up

The match between Tran Ngoc Luong and Rhino Casipe was an interesting highlight of LION Championship 19 that took place last weekend. Casipe was the guest fighter of the event, while Tran Ngoc Luong is the leading boxer of Vietnamese MMA in the 60 kg weight class.

The match ended quickly after only 35 seconds. Tran Ngoc Luong won by knockout even though the Vietnamese boxer had not even thrown a punch. He had just started to defend when Casipe attacked. The Filipino boxer fell to the floor, holding his leg and showing obvious pain.

Casipe actually injured himself before the fight started. As the ring girl was holding up the first round sign, Casipe took the opportunity to do some warm-up exercises. However, while performing a split, he seemed to overdo it and hurt his hamstring.

Casipe limped with a grimace. He lay on the field for the medical team to take care of him. The Filipino boxer decided to continue the fight. However, due to his injury, Casipe had to give up after more than 30 seconds. Tran Ngoc Luong had the easiest victory of his career.
