Accordingly, at around 4:00 p.m. on August 13, Ham Luong Border Guard Station received a report from Mr. Phan Van Trang (born in 1974, residing in An Thoi hamlet, Tan Thuy commune, Vinh Long province) about a crew member on a boat having an accident while fishing, about 5 nautical miles from shore.
Mr. Trang is the owner and captain of fishing boat BT-92086-TS, which operates a purse seine operation.
The victim was Mr. Truong Van Ret (born in 1974, residing in An Thoi hamlet, Tan Thuy commune) who suffered a broken femur and arm due to a work accident.
Upon receiving the information, Ham Luong Border Guard Station quickly dispatched a canoe and 5 officers and soldiers to the scene. The unit's medical staff performed first aid, fixed the wound, and ensured the victim's safety during the transfer.
At 5:53 p.m. on August 13, the injured crew member was brought safely ashore and handed over to Ba Tri Regional General Hospital for further emergency care and treatment.
