BHG - Readers are holding in their hands the last issue of Ha Giang Newspaper, closing a 34-year journey with many milestones (since the re-establishment of Ha Giang province in 1991). Entering a new journey with a new name, but in the hearts of every cadre and reporter, there is still a love and pride for the newspaper called Ha Giang Newspaper.

The past 34 years have been a long and wide enough period for Ha Giang Newspaper to leave its mark on readers' hearts with the journey of tireless service and dedication of a Party newspaper to the comprehensive renovation of the locality. As a mountainous, border province with difficult transportation, over the past 30 years, the footsteps of reporters and journalists of Ha Giang Newspaper have reached every corner, hamlet, recording every rhythm of life in the homeland's frontier. From trips to the grassroots, to remote villages to grasp the thoughts and aspirations of the people, eating and living with the people, the newspaper's reporters have given birth to a "brainchild" of reports, notes, and vivid reflections, imbued with the breath of life, exploiting interesting, valuable details, attracting readers, contributing to building the Ha Giang Newspaper brand.
I was fortunate to work with the brothers and sisters of the "golden generation" of the newspaper with names such as: Huy Toan, Thien Thanh, Kim Tien, Bien Luan, Thu Phuong... Immersed in the enthusiasm of my predecessors, it helped me nurture and ignite my passion for writing. I learned from them how to write attractive headlines, how to ask questions when interviewing characters, how to take photos to clearly show the intention, how to choose important details to write a good work.

Just like that, I gradually “grew up” with the profession, learned to observe more carefully, listen more carefully and dare to dive into thorny issues, reflecting the thoughts, wishes and opinions of the people. The trips to the base to “lie in wait” for a whole week in the highlands in the middle of the freezing winter; the hastily written news reports when storms and floods occurred, causing damage to people and property; the late nights of struggling with long-term topics and editing each sentence and each word to make the article more polished... all made me gradually more mature. And my love for journalism and for the Ha Giang Newspaper agency also grew in me.
Through the long years and months of working, each generation of cadres and reporters keeps their own memories of the common home called Ha Giang Newspaper. There, we worked together, devoted ourselves, and created a collective united by all our faith and love for the profession. Behind each issue delivered to readers is the crystallization of the enthusiasm, responsibility, and dedication of each reporter and journalist, and the silent contributions of editors and technicians. The common home of Ha Giang Newspaper has helped each member gradually become more steadfast and courageous. So that today, everyone shares the pride of contributing their small efforts to bring the provincial Party Committee newspaper closer to readers; fulfilling well the role and glorious mission of revolutionary journalism in a period of history.

Now, Ha Giang Newspaper is preparing to enter a new phase, joining the country in welcoming a new era. Although the name of the newspaper has changed, each staff member and reporter believes that its unique identity, with the same sense of responsibility and enthusiasm for the profession, will continue and spread. Change is necessary to join the general flow of modern journalism in the new era. However, before this historic moment, in each person's heart there is still a feeling of uneasiness and excitement that is difficult to name.
As the years go by, there will be many changes and new names, but in the hearts of every cadre and reporter there is always pride in a newspaper that used to be called Ha Giang Newspaper - a common home that has nurtured the "professional fire" for generations. And the spirit of journalism for the land, for the people of the northernmost part of the Fatherland will always follow each person throughout the journey of working on the new path.
