Third-party keyboard apps can track iPhones

Báo Thanh niênBáo Thanh niên09/12/2023

According to BGR , to do this, hackers took advantage of Apple's pre-release testing system called TestFlight to provide third-party keyboard applications that can spy on iPhone users. TestFlight is a system that allows developers to send unfinished versions of their applications to users.

iPhone is very secure but that doesn't mean there aren't vulnerabilities for hackers to exploit

After the user installs the app for testing, the hacker can install a custom keyboard that looks like the default iPhone keyboard. From there, the keyboard acts as a keylogger and records all the user's data, including passwords, messages... without the user knowing.

Using third-party keyboards to spy on iPhones could lead to some drastic changes to how Apple allows developers to use TestFlight, but in the meantime, users are advised to take steps to ensure their information and data aren’t being captured by malicious keyboards.

To do this, go to Settings > General > Keyboard and navigate down to Keyboards. Here, you can see any keyboards you have installed. If you see any keyboards you don’t like, remove them by tapping the Edit button and selecting the red minus button, which will remove the keyboard from your device.

Of course, hackers are bound to find other ways to track iPhones, so make sure you keep track of what you download and what websites you visit. Just because iPhones are secure doesn't mean they can't be hacked and accessed without permission.
