Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee and VinEnergo signed a cooperation agreement to develop renewable energy.

(Dan Tri) - Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee and VinEnergo Energy Joint Stock Company signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in developing renewable energy projects in the province.

The signing ceremony opens a strategic cooperation phase between VinEnergo and Gia Lai province. In particular, VinEnergo will conduct surveys, research and propose investment in potential solar and wind energy projects, aiming for a total capacity of about 20 GW by 2035. Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee will accompany, support and create favorable conditions for VinEnergo's projects to be added to the National Power Development Plan, ensuring the progress and set goals.

The cooperation between the two sides opens up opportunities to fully exploit Gia Lai's natural advantages and inherent potential in terms of abundant solar radiation all year round, stable wind speed, and large land and sea areas. The cooperation also contributes to realizing the province's vision in the transition to green energy - VinEnergo's core business area.

Speaking at the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh - Vice Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee - said: "With the goal of becoming a leading enterprise in the field of renewable energy, VinEnergo is promoting its full potential to implement key projects, contributing to the sustainable development of Vietnam's energy industry. I believe that the cooperation with VinEnergo will play an important role in the upcoming development orientation of Gia Lai province, opening up new opportunities, and making positive contributions to the overall development of the country".

Ms. Nguyen Huong Giang - Deputy General Director of VinEnergo Company - said: "With many favorable natural conditions, Gia Lai is one of the potential localities in developing renewable energy, in line with VinEnergo's development orientation. We believe that with the companionship and support of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, VinEnergo will soon research, invest and implement renewable energy projects in the province, contributing to realizing the dream of clean energy, contributing to the National Energy Development Strategy to 2030, vision 2045".

Responding to the Government's policy of encouraging the development and use of renewable energy, VinEnergo aims to become a leading unit in implementing large-scale renewable energy projects in Vietnam and internationally.
