College Admissions 2025: More than scores, young people should shine in their own way and become the best version of themselves

Every competition needs a measuring stick, but life is not measured by a few numbers on a scoreboard. Because people are not the product of exams, but the journey of growth, dreams and change.

The 2025 high school graduation exam results were announced on July 16, bringing with them many feelings and emotions. There were tears of happiness, sighs of relief, but also many sad and worried eyes when the results were not as expected.

During this period, the most important thing is not how many points your child is missing or where they went wrong, but what adults will say and do to help your child understand that the most important thing after the exam is not the end but the beginning of a new journey.

At the age of 18, the age when personal identity is being formed and self-worth is being shaped, unsatisfactory exam results can easily make children feel inferior, useless, and a failure. Sadness and disappointment can make them lose confidence in themselves. If parents, due to pressure or expectations, unintentionally confirm those negative emotions with bad words or disappointed looks, children will lose confidence in themselves even more, especially at the time when they are most vulnerable and sensitive.

"Every young person has their own value, there will always be many paths leading to their dreams, as long as they continue to believe in themselves and dare to start over. Every step, whether short or long, right or wrong, is bringing you closer to the best version of yourself."

On the contrary, no score is big enough to make you proud for the rest of your life. A score of 9 or 10 is a proud result of your efforts, but it is only a milestone on a long journey. If you rely on it to be complacent, to stop learning and striving, then that pride can become a barrier to further progress in the future. Because scores cannot fully measure a person's ability, core values, or unlimited potential.

If the result is not as expected, stop for a moment to be sad if necessary and then move on, because you still have a whole youth ahead to explore , learn and grow. Life always allows you to start over, completely fresh with all determination.

Failure is not the end, but a stop to look back, to learn and to become stronger. The great successful people in history and in modern life have failed countless times before reaching the top. They are not people who have never stumbled, but always get up and never give up. It is those failures that have tempered their will, honed their experience, and helped them find the most suitable path for themselves.

You can take a step back and choose another direction. You can take a less traveled path and be yourself. Don’t let your grades make you think you’re not good enough. The world is big, there are countless opportunities, countless ways to shine, to be happy and successful.

Candidates are in the process of adjusting their admission wishes, waiting for the floor score, the standard score to enter universities. In fact, a person's success has never been decided by a single exam. The high school graduation exam is an important measurement, an indispensable step in education, but it is not the decisive factor in a person's future. For students to be able to confidently enter life and be able to succeed, it depends on countless other factors. These are the ability to think critically, problem-solving skills, creativity, adaptability, communication skills, perseverance, passion, and most importantly, understanding themselves.

Successful people have also failed and experienced hardships, but from those failures, they have learned how to stand up, understand themselves and realize where their strengths lie. The core issue now is to remove the pressure that is weighing on students' shoulders, not only from their families but also from social concepts.

"You can take a step back and choose another direction. You can turn to a road less traveled, and then be yourself. Don't let your grades make you think you're inferior. This world is so big, there are countless opportunities, countless ways to shine, to be happy and successful."

If education changes the value system, the way of looking at human potential, the assessment of a person's ability is also different, more substantial, then the pressure from exams will be reduced. Instead of just looking at the score, look at the whole process of effort, progress, and good qualities that students have practiced. Encourage them to explore their passions, develop life skills, and prepare themselves to become useful citizens for society.

Your grades may open some doors, but you are the one who decides how far and how strong your path will be. When one door closes, another one opens. After your graduation exam, you can go to university, learn a trade, work, study abroad, or learn more about yourself. Whatever your choice, the journey ahead is yours and you can continue it in your own way, with your own beliefs and aspirations.

Every competition needs a measuring stick, but life is not just measured by a few numbers on the scoreboard. Because people are not the product of exams, but the journey of maturity, of dreams and change. Believe that every young person has their own value, there will always be many paths leading to dreams, as long as you keep believing in yourself and dare to start over. Every step, whether short or long, right or wrong, is bringing you closer to the best version of yourself.
