In Asia, the Vietnamese women's team ranked 6th in Asia after Japan, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Australia, China and South Korea. Coach Mai Duc Chung and his team also continued to hold the No. 1 position in Southeast Asia, above the Philippines (7th in Asia) and Thailand (9th in Asia).

In the world , the Vietnamese women's team ranked 37th. The Philippines and Thailand ranked 41st and 46th respectively. The top three positions in women's football in the world still belong to the US, Spain - the current world champion, and Germany.
Notably, Brazil rose four places in the FIFA rankings to return to the top four for the first time since 2013 thanks to a series of successful friendly matches.

The Vietnamese women's team is training in Osaka (Japan) to prepare for the 2026 Asian Women's Football Championship qualifiers, taking place in Viet Tri ( Phu Tho ) from June 29.
During the training trip, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team played 2/3 friendly matches to complete the squad. Specifically, the Vietnamese women's team won 3-2 against Iga Kunoichi Mie FC on June 11 and just won 3-1 against Tezukayama Gakuin University on the afternoon of June 13.
