Vietnam women's volleyball team and the final match on the world stage

The Vietnamese women's volleyball team lost to Germany 0-3 in the second round of the World Cup. The result meant that the Vietnamese women's volleyball team no longer had a chance to advance. However, the performance of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team against the representative from Europe had some bright spots. In particular, the main striker Tran Thi Thanh Thuy scored 17 points, the highest score of the match.

The absence of Bich Tuyen has caused the Vietnamese women's volleyball team to lose an important pillar. And Thanh Thuy has shown that she is a worthy replacement when she left her mark in the first two matches.

Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet commented: “Although Germany is a high-ranked team, we still had memorable moments in the match. This is a great opportunity for the players to learn and develop. We still need to continue to strive and improve ourselves through each match. The whole team had a very good match and I believe that with matches like this, we will become stronger and stronger. Each match is an opportunity to learn and grow.”

“Although we did not win any of the last two matches, the Vietnamese team showed good form, especially against high-ranked opponents like Germany and Poland. The players gave their all, created beautiful plays and pushed back all the pressure. This tournament was a valuable experience for the whole team,” Mr. Kiet affirmed.

What was shown in the first two matches of this year's tournament helped the players of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team achieve their goal of gaining experience. We lost to two strong opponents, helping the coaching staff see the problems to overcome for the whole team in the next tournament.

As Germany coach Giulio Cesare Bregoli said: “Asian players have been performing well in recent times. When your players participate in many tournaments of this level, experience is accumulated and expertise increases significantly.”

The Vietnamese women's volleyball team has one last match against Kenya. This is the team that lost to us in a friendly match before the world tournament. Before that, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team had a friendly match with Kenya during the FIVB Challenge Cup 2023.

If we win against Kenya in the upcoming match, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will go down in history. That is not only a mark but also a spiritual motivation for the Vietnamese women's players. After the world tournament, the players will return to their clubs to prepare for the second leg of the national championship. After that, we will look forward to the more important tournament, the 33rd SEA Games. That is the tournament in which we aim to win the championship.

In the final match of the world championship, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet can completely make adjustments to the team's personnel with new experiments. The confrontation with Kenya is therefore worth waiting for.

Thanh Thuy stays in Thailand to join VTV Binh Dien Long An

VTV Binh Dien Long An team will send its best team, including Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, to participate in the Kings Cup 2025 international volleyball tournament in Thailand.

According to research, the tournament will be held from August 14 to August 19. Striker Tran Thi Thanh Thuy agreed to join the VTV Binh Dien Long An team here, then go to Japan to participate in the national championship in the Gunma Green Wings team.

At the 2025 Kings Cup, VTV Binh Dien Long An team will not hire foreign players, only using domestic players. The players currently on the first line of VTV Binh Dien Long An include Nguyen Thi Tra My, Dang Thi Kim Thanh, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Trinh Huynh Bao Ngoc, Doan Thi My Tien, Le Nhu Anh, Nguyen Khanh Dang, Vo Thi Kim Thoa, Nguyen Lan Vy, Tran Nguyen Qui Uyen, Nguyen Ngoc My Tien, Lu Thi Phuong.

VTV Binh Dien Long An team is the current runner-up in the women's national volleyball tournament. This year, the team competed and won second place in the AVC Champions League 2025, so they have a place in the 2025 Women's Club World Championship (December 2025).

It is almost certain that Tran Thi Thanh Thuy will not compete in the 2025 Women's Club World Cup with VTV Binh Dien Long An. Currently, this striker is with the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team participating in the 2025 World Cup in Phuket (Thailand). The tournament will close on September 7.
