March 3 is the first official working day of a number of agencies and units on the basis of merging and receiving the transfer of functions and tasks of previous agencies in the political system.
During the first working week (from March 3-7, 2025), officials, civil servants, public employees, and workers demonstrated initiative and readiness, ensuring the system operated continuously and without interruption.
The process of arranging and merging agencies in the political system also aims to improve the efficiency, effectiveness and performance of the apparatus, meeting the requirements of building a modern and transparent political system, for the rapid and sustainable development of the country in the new era.
Get to work
On the first working day after the merger, on the afternoon of March 3, the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions held a conference to announce and award the Decision on appointing leaders of affiliated units and the Party Committee of the Ministry.
The Party Executive Committee of the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions also held its first Conference for the 2020-2025 term.
Minister Dao Ngoc Dung sent his congratulations to all leaders of departments and units of the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions who received the appointment decision; at the same time, he requested that the units immediately get to work and act on the motto of innovation and creativity.
The Minister also assigned the Ministry's functional units to coordinate with Party Committees to review and promulgate regulations and functions of units in the spirit of no overlap, no missing work, and each work has only one unit in charge to effectively carry out assigned tasks.
Along with that, the units accelerated the implementation and removed obstacles of the projects under the National Target Program on socio -economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas...
The Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions is one of 17 ministries and ministerial-level agencies in the organizational structure of the Government.
The unification of the two fields of Ethnicity and Religion is also expected to increase the efficiency, effectiveness and efficiency in the process of building and implementing ethnic and religious policies of the Party and State; thereby consolidating and strengthening the great national unity bloc.

The Minister affirmed that March 1 is a special day of profound political and historical significance to the Government, the state administration in general and the Ministry of Home Affairs in particular, on the basis of merging the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.
On the morning of Monday, March 3, the first working day of the week, the Ministry of Science and Technology held a flag-raising ceremony at 6 locations across the country.
The ceremony took place solemnly at the head office at 18 Nguyen Du, Hai Ba Trung district, Hanoi; simultaneously with the connecting points at 113 Tran Duy Hung, Representative Office in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang branch, Department of Intellectual Property and National Quality Measurement Committee.
After the flag-raising ceremony, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung shared that the Party and State have identified science, technology, innovation and digital transformation as the three main pillars for national development in the new era with the goal of helping Vietnam escape the middle-income trap and become a developed country with high income.
The Minister encouraged cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers to focus on performing each small task well, clearly recognizing the importance of speed and efficiency in work.
Action on the motto of innovation and creativity
Emphasizing the importance of science and technology in the new era of the nation, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung affirmed that only a strong country can maintain peace and develop prosperity.
“We need to think differently, act quickly, and turn science and technology into strategic weapons to protect and develop the country,” the Minister said.
According to the Minister, the merger of the Ministry of Information and Communications with the Ministry of Science and Technology into the new Ministry of Science and Technology marks an important turning point in the process of streamlining and organizing the apparatus towards efficiency and effectiveness. Not only inheriting the functions and tasks of the two ministries, the Ministry of Science and Technology is also assigned by the Central Government and the Government with breakthrough responsibilities such as developing strategic national technologies.
Most recently, on February 28, 2025, after signing and issuing Decision No. 464/QD-TTg to dissolve the Steering Committee of the Project "Developing a Digitalized Vietnamese Knowledge System," Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh assigned the Ministry of Science and Technology to preside over and implement the Project to ensure the goals, tasks, and solutions in Decision No. 677/QD-TTg dated May 18, 2017 of the Prime Minister approving the Project "Developing a Digitalized Vietnamese Knowledge System."
This project aims to build a digitalized Vietnamese knowledge system through synthesizing, systematizing, Vietnamizing, digitizing, storing and disseminating knowledge in all fields, first of all supporting education and training, innovation and fields directly related to people's lives such as law, health, production techniques...
In addition, the Project also aims to create a favorable environment to attract all people and businesses to participate, with the role of both exploiting and contributing to enriching Vietnam's digital knowledge resources; arousing and spreading the passion for science and technology, the desire for creativity and dedication of everyone, every business, especially the young generation, intellectuals and information technology businesses...
After the merger, the headquarters of some previous Ministries changed their nameplates. After a week of work, cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers were "in the groove" and operating their work according to assigned tasks.
In recent meetings, Party and State leaders, when speaking about the requirements for streamlining the organizational apparatus and reducing staff, emphasized the importance of restructuring and improving the quality of civil servants and public employees; continuing to review policies to ensure the legitimate rights and interests of cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers; creating consensus among cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees, and people of all walks of life...
Working in the field of journalism, Ms. Dao Quynh Lan shared: “After merging the Communist Party of Vietnam Electronic Newspaper with Nhan Dan Newspaper, in the first days of March we returned to work at the new house. Assigned to the People's Electronic Department, we were happy and touched to receive a warm welcome from the Head of the Department and other staff and reporters. I was also assigned by the leaders to monitor and report news right in the first days of this week.
