According to The Hindu, police said that a part of Piplod School in Jhalawar, Rajashthan, India, collapsed on July 25, 2025, killing 7 students and injuring 28 others.
"The classroom for grades 6 and 7 collapsed, burying about 35 children," police said.

Piles of concrete slabs, bricks and stones were left after the building collapsed. Many people, including parents and teachers, joined the rescue effort, searching through the rubble for victims and bringing children out.
Local residents were outraged, saying they had reported the state of the school to local authorities but no action had been taken.
"The incident happened due to negligence of the management," Balkishan, a local resident, told reporters.
However, according to an official, the local government recently directed the education department to provide information about any dilapidated schools, but this case was not on the list.
"I will order an investigation and will take strict action against whoever is responsible," the official told PTI.
