At the meeting, Vice Chairwoman of Vinh Hung Ward People's Committee Quan Thi Van Anh presented a speech reviewing the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day; at the same time, emphasizing that today's meeting is an opportunity for the Party Committee, government and people of Vinh Hung Ward to remember and express gratitude for the great contributions of heroic martyrs, war invalids and sick soldiers - those who sacrificed their blood and youth for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for the peaceful and happy life of the people.
Over the years, together with the whole country, the Party Committee, government and people of Vinh Hung ward have wholeheartedly cared for the material and spiritual lives of war invalids, sick soldiers, families of martyrs and people with revolutionary contributions.
With affection and responsibility, all levels, sectors and people in the whole ward have regularly done a good job of "Repaying gratitude" with many rich and practical activities, such as: Annually organizing visits and giving gifts to families of war invalids, sick soldiers, relatives of martyrs and people with meritorious services to the revolution; giving gratitude savings books to families in difficult circumstances; organizing medical examinations, health consultations and providing free medicine to policy beneficiaries; supporting the construction and repair of houses for people with meritorious services, paying special attention to policy families in difficult circumstances.
The ward also actively mobilized units and benefactors to join hands to support the Gratitude Fund as well as give many gifts of gratitude to families. 100% of meritorious people and their relatives benefit from health care policies. Their children are given preferential treatment in education and training, priority in admission, job placement, etc.
Speaking at the meeting, Party Secretary and Chairman of Vinh Hung Ward People's Council Nguyen Duc Dung expressed his gratitude to war invalids, sick soldiers, martyrs' families and people with revolutionary contributions in the ward.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Dung said that although Vinh Hung ward was newly established and officially put into operation from July 1, 2025 under the two-level local government model, the ward pays special attention to implementing policies for people with meritorious services. Vinh Hung ward has a natural area of 4.47 km2 but has up to 750 war invalids, sick soldiers, and families of martyrs. That shows the fierceness of war and the great sacrifices of the previous generation so that the next generation will always be grateful and cherish.
According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Dung, in the coming time, the Party Committee and the ward government still have a lot of work to do, especially focusing on taking care of the lives of 750 war invalids, sick soldiers, and families of martyrs. Residential areas and residential groups continue to pay attention to checking to see if there are any families with policies facing difficulties in the area. The Party Committee and the ward government pledge to accompany, with the best policies of the Party and the State, to take care of the families of martyrs, war invalids, and sick soldiers.
On this occasion, Vinh Hung ward presented 750 gifts to families of martyrs, families of policy beneficiaries, and meritorious people in the area.
