The center acts as a 'brain' for data innovation

The Center for Innovation, Data Exploitation and System Security and Safety was officially launched to promote the transformation of data into value for socio-economic development.

The National Data Center ( Ministry of Public Security ) launched the Center for Innovation, Data Exploitation and System Security and Safety on July 4 in Hanoi. The event marks an important step forward in Vietnam's digital economic development strategy.

Major General Nguyen Ngoc Cuong, Director of the National Data Center, affirmed that the two new units will improve the quality of management and implementation of the Center's tasks. He emphasized that the Innovation Center is positioned as "the brain of innovation in the field of data".

"Innovation directions and cooperation between the state, businesses and research institutes in creating new data platforms and business models will be opened up," said the Center's leader.

The Innovation Center will play a leading role in the research and development of core data technology products. Areas of focus include digital infrastructure platforms, artificial intelligence, blockchain, and big data analytics systems.

At the launch ceremony, the Center signed cooperation agreements with 27 strategic technology partners. The list of units includes MobiFone , VNVC, Pila, Nadat, Iris, TTC and many other banking and financial institutions.

The event also introduced six introducing data products developed by domestic enterprises. The products include: NDAChain (national blockchain platform), national data integration platform, decentralized identification application, virtual assistant Rabbi, national email system and national data exchange.

Major General Cuong requested the two new units to coordinate in developing decrees and guidelines on data security and safety. At the same time, the units need to research and develop a fund for innovation in data science and a data industrial park.

The establishment of the Innovation Center comes right after the Data Law officially took effect on July 1. This is Vietnam's first legal framework on data, creating a foundation for digital economic development.
