China Central Television (CCTV) said that the K visa will give priority to foreign experts who graduated from prestigious universities or research institutes around the world, or are working at prestigious educational institutions and research institutes.

Detailed information on the conditions for obtaining a K visa will be posted on the websites of Chinese embassies and consulates in the near future.

The K visa only requires age, education or work experience, and does not require the applicant to have an employment contract or be offered cooperation by any entity in China. The K visa application process is said to be quite simple.

According to CCTV , the K visa has more convenience than existing regular visas, in terms of number of entries, validity period and length of stay.

China is aiming to become the world's leading technological superpower by 2035. Therefore, the Chinese government has identified high-quality human resources as a key factor in achieving this goal.

A series of programs have been launched by China to attract talented researchers from around the world to work in China, and to encourage Chinese scientists and engineers working abroad to return home to contribute.

Top Chinese universities are offering very competitive salaries to attract talent from prestigious universities around the world.

Meanwhile, in the US, many scientists are facing cuts in research funding from the federal budget.
