On August 31, the Criminal Police Department, Dak Lak Provincial Police, announced that the unit had just dismantled a large-scale lottery gambling ring .

Previously, through professional work, the Criminal Police Department, Dak Lak Provincial Police discovered a gambling ring in the form of lottery numbers, gathering many gamblers from many communes in Dak Lak province to participate.

On August 27, the Criminal Police Department, Dak Lak Provincial Police mobilized more than 50 officers and soldiers to coordinate with police forces from many communes to deploy 15 working groups, simultaneously searching the residences of 15 subjects.

During the search, the police seized more than 200 million VND, 20 mobile phones and many documents related to gambling and gambling organization.

According to initial investigation results, the leaders of this gambling ring are Dang Thi Le Quoc, 38 years old, and Tran Thi My Dung, 52 years old, both residing in Krong Bong commune, Dak Lak province.

From June 2025 until the time of arrest, the subjects used mobile phones to receive lottery numbers from gamblers and transfer them to bookmakers to receive commissions. In addition, the subjects also used online betting accounts to directly participate in gambling in the form of recording lottery numbers.

To deal with the authorities, this group only sent messages via social media accounts to receive and transfer lottery numbers. At the end of the day, they based on the lottery results of the provinces to determine the winner or loser with the gambler. After that, all messages were deleted to avoid detection by the authorities.
