On the afternoon of June 28, on the occasion of the Vietnamese Family Day, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong City organized the Award Ceremony of the Photo Contest and the Opening of the Documentary and Photo Exhibition with the theme "Beautiful Photos of Family". The event is a highlight in the series of cultural and social activities responding to the National Action Month to Prevent and Combat Domestic Violence and especially to celebrate the merger of Hai Duong province and Hai Phong city.

Speaking at the ceremony, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong City Tran Thi Hoang Mai emphasized: Family is the origin of love, the cradle that nurtures people, the healthy cell of society. Throughout history, traditional values such as filial piety, loyalty, solidarity, and love have always been preserved and passed down through generations. Today, family continues to play a key role in creating a civilized, humane, and happy society.

This year’s exhibition displays 160 photos and documents about family life, carefully selected from the competition and collected sources. This is not only a unique art space but also an effective form of propaganda, helping to raise social awareness of the role of the family in the process of building and defending the Fatherland.

Launched in May 2025, the Photo Contest "Beautiful Photos of Family" has attracted the participation of many professional and amateur photographers across the country.
The jury selected 44 best works to display in the exhibition, and awarded the following prizes: 01 First Prize for the work Love Story by author Nguyen Duc Toan; 2 Second Prizes: Where Love Begins - Family is Everything by author Luu Thanh Dat and Happiness by author Vu Dung; 5 Third Prizes and 6 Encouragement Prizes for emotional works, capturing the warm and sacred everyday moments of Vietnamese families; The only collective prize was awarded to the Hai Phong Art Photography Club, the unit with many quality works participating in the contest.

The award-winning photos all contain profound humane messages about love, attachment and filial piety in each family, in line with the spirit of the Vietnam Family Development Strategy, aiming for the model of a "prosperous, progressive and happy family".

Immediately after the award ceremony, the 2025 Documentary and Photo Exhibition with the theme "Beautiful Photos of Families" officially opened, introducing to the public 160 photos and documents capturing everyday, rustic but loving moments in Vietnamese families.
Ms. Tran Thi Hoang Mai shared: “The exhibition is not only a place to display works of art but also a space to connect generations, where families share experiences and life values; at the same time, it is an opportunity for the photography community to meet and spread positive messages from family life.”
Through authentic and intimate images, the exhibition contributes to raising public awareness of the role of family, encouraging the building of a cultured and civilized family, saying no to violence and inequality. The event also affirms the role of family work in comprehensive human development - the core to building a strong country and a happy society.
